Foreigners' Law

We handle applications and proceedings under Portuguese immigration law, within the legal regime on entry, stay, exit and removal of foreigners (Law No. 23/2007, as amended), and in dealings with AIMA.

Areas of work

Residence permits and residence visas, including dependent professional activity; family reunification; renewals and changes of status; follow-up of pending applications before AIMA; judicial challenges to administrative decisions.

When the decision is unfavourable

There are deadlines to react to an unfavourable decision. Choosing between a complaint, a hierarchical appeal or a court action depends on the type of decision and must be made carefully. The first step is therefore to review the file and the decision.

Documentation

A file requires valid documents, translations and, in many cases, certifications. We recommend gathering the documents before the consultation, and we assist in preparing the file.

Professional transparency note. Each case is analysed individually. No specific outcome can be guaranteed in administrative, judicial or notarial proceedings, since the final decision always rests with the competent authority or the court. The information on this website is general and does not replace legal advice on your specific case.
